Languages
- HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery
Tasks
- Design and implement entire page
- Create a dynamic photo gallery with horizontal scrolling
- Display large amounts of event info with limited space
The Project
Create a hub where we can display all of our exclusive photos and video in real-time. Also, display a significant amount of event details in an environment with little real estate.
First of Its Kind
VMA Central was the start of a new direction for the Barclays Center website. The idea was that the site should be more than just a place to go to learn about upcoming concerts, it should be a place to go to learn what's happening at the events you missed. It was honor to be in charge of the the first true event destination on BC.com
The Result
The page was easy to manage (important for all of the real-time updating that had to occur) and got a large amount of traffic. The page was a hit internally and externally and was a precursor for some of the more elaborate content pieces I've worked on (which will be coming soon!)
Project Features
Photo Gallery
I created a photo gallery for the page and added a horizontal scrolling element to it. This allowed us to constantly update the page with new photos without worrying about how much space they would take up on the page. The quick loading also meant that users did not have to wait long at all to view the photos they came to see.
