A Proud Franchise

The New York Islanders won four consecutive Stanley Cup titles in the early 1980s. That storied team had an incredible run of 19 consecutive NHL Playoff series wins, unmatched in the history of professional sports.

Eight Islanders have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, seven of whom—Al Arbour, Mike Bossy, Clark Gillies, Denis Potvin, Billy Smith, Bill Torrey, and Bryan Trottier—were members of all four Cup-winning teams. Pat LaFontaine was the most recent inductee, having been honored in 2003.

The New York Islanders have a long and celebrated history playing in their current home of Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum and they will bring their treasured traditions to Barclays Center. The Islanders four Stanley Cup banners will proudly hang from the rafters in the arena honoring the team’s past and looking ahead to an exciting new chapter in Islanders history.
